"The power of a role model
From time to time you see an outstanding person. There’s the fellow with white shining Air Max sneakers, and a style fresher than the aroma of Columbian coffee. But let’s not devote more attention than necessary, I'm not hating on a fly fellow, I'm hating on y'all! Ha-ha, sike. Too much attention and you may wind up having a deficit disorder, and who’d wish that upon even their worst enemy (?), not me at least. But not last, so lets focus on the person of interest, sort of speak, intriguing for other reasons than their opinions, cloths and appearance. The person is of importance because who (s)he is! Important in the sense of making a difference in the somewhat homogenous society we live and breathe in. There aren't any secret handshakes, six digit checks; as a matter of fact I think the investment is larger than the profit. In a non-economic perspective there’s actually evidence of that this is a mild understatement, at least a colorless way of viewing reality. We’ve already addressed the topic of looking at life in more than two shades. Today I’m taking a closer look at the phenomenon of role model.

What motivates a sane person to volunteer in a foreign country, what makes students aid youngens with homework, to sum up, why do we do things for free in the age of the “new” gold rush? All jokes aside, I honestly believe that the power of the mind is the most powerful. Who stands in-between you and anything? Probably yourself. All clichés aside, you rock it’s true! And to know how much you rock, don’t count your facebook friends, count your H.A.T.E.R.S, or persons ... having anger towards everyone reaching success!

Katt Williams breaks the message down in his legendary stand-up routine Pimpadelic. Stressing the importance of having as many haters as possible; it’s the only way you know that you are doing something right! Another interesting remark from the routine is that nobody can mess with your self esteem, think about it, it’s the way you feel about yourself. The next time you feel annoyed by a hater’s remark, you’re probably doing A-o-kay! Keep your head tall, visualize yourself achieving greatness. You’re the one to watch, and I’m always on point.
“I once knew a boy with the name William; his primary concern was to make million”, for some of you this might seem like a straight forward dream, perhaps it wasn’t William, but I can easily count a couple of ‘entrepreneurs’ with fame and gold as their primary concern. One or two of you might recognize this as a line from Immortal Techniques famous “Dance with the Devil”. Needless to say that the word “morbid” doesn’t cover the content of the song, but the message is clear as the light of day; you should be prepared to sacrifice everything when you dance with the devil. An interesting point worth making is the Scarface-dream, well imbedded in the brain of most youngsters. The character Anthony Montana, a refugee who makes his way to the top, with more money, drugs and whatnot than he can use, ends up six feet beneath. Well, as in most pursuits of the “gangsters” delight, you end up dead, or shot to pieces. “Stakes is high”, so “get rich or die tryin”.
I remember growing up, wanting to become a firefighter. I guess it’s a dream shared by most boys, and at a certain point, not sure when, the focus of the dreams alters for some. Some chose the path of fame and fortune, others pursue their happiness. Anyways, all moralistic and all, as long as your intentions are good, whose gonna stand in your way of realization? Personally I’m happy as long as I have some box fresh sneakers, some pocket change to spend and a valid bus pass. In order not to offend anyone with my moralistic message, I’ll leave you with a little ‘something something’ to focus on. As long as you follow the path to the realization of your dream, consider that a couple of youngens might look up to you. Dreamon suggest we should make education fun to inspire the youth, so what else is there really to say?
And then my much awaited point finally arrived, just like the third date, the mind blowing moment you’ve been for has come! Ha-ha. Listen, all the points and arguments in the world won’t measure up to the carelessness that dominates the mind of the most of us. It’s time to get it on, not in the sense of Marvin, dream()on. Keep on following your dreams, but remember that someone might be observing you when you’re not watching, so the A-game is the tactic I would go by. It’s not that big a struggle to take a young padwan or Danielsan under your wing, embrace the thought and do the effort. Sometimes it might call for a little change in path, other times it’s about the Wygotski shit. Making youngsters open their eyes isn’t the easiest task, but I bet y’all have it in you. The point of pointing out the nature of a problem is too able us selves to better our situation. We don’t look at well functioning situations and dwell over the fact that we probably can make them better. A motto as easy as one-two-three; if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it! I’ve been addressed with accusations of being stuck up, too self-conscious, so I take it as a token of that I’m doing something right! Ha-ha
